Married and loving it, with two young boys and a beautiful baby girl. We’re getting settled into our new home in Saugatuck, Michigan. We love it here! I’m a recovering gamer addict, sci-fi nut, and unrepentant music junkie. Hobbies include: collecting good definitions, mangling blues and rock songs on my guitar, hiking the dunes, and chopping hedges.

Rob’s Rules: Ok, not rules, More like guidelines:
1. Open door policy: during regular office hours, if you stop by, you automatically outrank what I’m working on. If I’m on the phone, I’ll finish the call and then give you my full attention. First come first served.
2. Open home policy: If you want to join us for supper, sign up for Dinner with the Brinks on Monday Nights. If you want to chat, come on over! (just don’t expect a clean, quiet house)
3. Two-Thirds policy: The church may have two thirds of any day. That means if I have office hours in the morning and a board meeting at night, the afternoon is reserved for important stuff like climbing sand dunes with the boys.
4. Half-in, half-out (or four quarters): In a perfect week, I would spend half my time out of the office and half in. Half of that office time is for sermon prep, and half for administration. Outside the office, half the time is for hospital or home visits, and half for community networking.
